Château Le Brézéguet is located in the heart of the Cahors vineyards, in the commune of Porte du Quercy, in the Lot department. Situated on a Quercy Blanc plateau reaching an altitude of nearly 300 meters, the estate benefits from a preserved natural environment, conducive to demanding viticulture that respects the terroir.
The clay-limestone soils promote a slow and even ripening of the grapes. This high-altitude terroir, combined with generous exposure and local climatic contrasts, gives rise to structured, elegant wines of great aromatic finesse, true to the authentic expression of Cahors.
Further east, the estate also expresses itself through Château Grand Chêne , located on the slopes and terraces of Grézels, overlooking the Lot Valley. Here, the vines take root in clay-siliceous and gravelly soils, shaped by the river over the centuries. This emblematic terroir offers another perspective on Cahors: sunnier, deeper and more generous wines, where Malbec reveals all its richness and complexity.
Between plateau, hillsides and terraces, the estate draws its uniqueness from the diversity of its terroirs. Each plot is worked with precision to reveal the best of its origin, offering complementary wines, reflecting a shared commitment: to express with sincerity and elegance the grandeur of the Cahors terroirs.
Founded in 1999 by Delphine and Jean Longueteau, Château Le Brézéguet was born from a carefully considered career change, driven by a passion for wine and a solid background in oenology. Originally from the French West Indies, they chose the Cahors vineyards to express a demanding and authentic vision of winemaking, fueled by respect for the terroir and the pursuit of excellence.
Located in the commune of Saux, the estate begins with 5 hectares carefully selected and worked with precision. From its earliest years, Château Le Brézéguet has asserted a strong identity, based on a rigorous plot-by-plot approach and a constant attention to the purest expression of the terroir.
The acquisition of Château Grand Chêne in 2015 marked a pivotal step in the estate's development. Located on the slopes and terraces of the Lot Valley, this iconic terroir enriches the range of wines and allows for the exploration of complementary expressions of Cahors, combining depth, elegance, and complexity.
Since 2018, the passing of the torch has been a natural part of the estate's history with the arrival of Christophe Longueteau , representing a new generation. His contemporary perspective and innovative practices blend harmoniously with the family heritage, reinforcing a subtle balance between tradition and modernity. Together, they craft wines of character, reflecting exacting expertise and a resolutely forward-looking identity.
